Morning Star Away Camps 2025

Our Morning Star Camp program has been a cherished summer tradition for Catholic girls for over 40 years. However, each year, we face a waiting list of eager campers, as our space is limited. So, when parishes or co-ops request the Morning Star Camp in their communities, we strive to make it happen. Through our “Away Camps,” we bring our proven program to new states and facilities while preserving the spirit of Morning Star. Whether it’s an overnight or day camp, Morning Star Camp offers the same fantastic program, joyful spirit, and devotion to Mary.

Washington State

The parishes of Saint Joseph and North American Martyrs in Washington State have collaborated for the past few years to bring MSC to the Pacific Northwest. Three Sisters directed the overnight camp program at the All Saints Camp facility on Raft Island from June 8-12, 2025. It was a joy to be with this wonderful group of campers and counselors again!

Colorado

The second year of MSC took place in Colorado from July 28 to August 1, 2025! Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish sponsored four Sisters to lead a day-camp program in the west for 105 happy campers. It was a great week in a beautiful part of the country! Morning Star Campers shine everywhere!

Indiana

It was our joy to bring the Morning Star Camp program back to Indiana this September for the happy campers from Sacred Heart Parish in Fort Wayne. Three Sisters directed the overnight camp program at Pokagon State Park from September 16-20, 2025. A giant Thank You to all the parish volunteers that heped out in so many ways!

Louisiana

Morning Star Camp will also go to Louisiana for an overnight camp in November 2025. Stay tuned for a recap!

Morning Star Summer ’25

This year, the Morning Star Camp season kicked off with ladies traveling by plane, bus, or car from to participate in the Morning Star Leadership Week, held from June 15-21. This program, designed for girls dedicated to living and sharing their Catholic faith, is always a favorite among the Sisters. The year 2025 turned out to be one for the books! Of the 100 campers, only 14 were new participants. The schedule featured a variety of memorable events, particularly the Feast of Corpus Christi. Leadership Camp was spirited from start to finish!

Following this, a week of regular Morning Star Summer Camp took place for girls ages 10-14 from June 22-28. Many new campers filled the cabins, and it was exciting to see the camp spirit begin to catch on. Thanks to a dedicated team of counselors, the week flowed smoothly, and 100 new MSC girls carried their light of faith back home with them, continuing to “Follow Mary” until they regroup next year.

Morning Star Teen Week, which ran from July 6-12, was exclusively for teens and was packed with all the spirit and energy one could imagine! The beautiful weather and lively group contributed to a wonderful week. Participants enjoyed learning new sign language for camp songs, and the fishing boat became a favorite activity, with approximately 60 fish caught!

The second regular week of Morning Star Summer Camp occurred from July 13-19, concluding the girls’ camps at our home facility for the season. Campers filled all 120 bunks, and the schedule included catechism, art, music, and more, all infused with excitement and enthusiasm from the happy campers. Each week concludes with a Talent Night followed by a candlelight procession, which is always a touching finale as we all thank Our Lady for a wonderful week.

Thank you, Blessed Mother, for all four of the wonderful weeks of Morning Star Camp 2025! Ave Maria!

Corpus Christi 2025

The Morning Star Camp season has officially begun at our home camp facility! The 2025 Leadership Camp participants made history by celebrating the Feast of Corpus Christi for the first time during the program. Thanks to Father McCambridge, FSSP, the camp chaplain (and to our servers who made the trek), we enjoyed a beautiful Sung Mass, procession, and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

The feast was further commemorated with our first-ever Corpus Christi Banquet, which campers enjoyed in Mission Hall that evening. This occasion provided an excellent opportunity to remind these young ladies that true Catholic leaders should be living monstrances, showing Christ to the world! We thank God for this important feast and for the gift of being able to celebrate it in a place that is very dear to our hearts. Enjoy the photos!

Morning Star Texas 2024

Morning Star Camp was shining in Texas again this year! Four of our Sisters brought the program to a great group of campers in the Tyler area! Catechism, crafts, singing, dancing, and plenty of laughing and fun were all part of this day camp from March 5–7. Texas was sunny, bright, and warm… and the perfect place to start the Morning Star Camps for 2024! The new camp year is off to a great start!! Follow Mary, the Morning Star, girls! We can’t wait to come back to Morning Star Texas!

Morning Star Louisiana 2023

While the cold weather moved in to New England, four of our Sisters finished the Morning Star Camps for 2023 in the warmer region of Louisiana! This was the fifth time the program had taken place at the lovely facility of Camp Abbey in Covington on November 8–11, 2023.

Daily Mass, catechism classes, crafts, music, games, and lots of laughing and singing were the sure signs that the camp was a success. It was a fantastic group of 70 happy campers and counselors! Special thanks to Gretchen R. and her team of volunteer moms who made Morning Star Louisiana happen once again! God bless you all! Follow Mary, the Morning Star!

Morning Star Indiana 2023

The Morning Star Camp program continued into September this year with a trip to Fort Wayne, Indiana! Sacred Heart FSSP Parish has previously sponsored the Sisters to direct day camps, but this year, the parish rented a facility for an overnight camp. It was a lovely campground, a great group of campers and volunteers, and great potential to grow Morning Star Camp, Indiana! Special thanks to Barbara P. for spearheading the event. We can’t wait until MSC Indiana 2024! Enjoy some photos below!

Morning Star North West

Idaho Camp

Our Morning Star Camp program was shining in the North West this summer! No sooner was the school year finished when three of our Sisters were off to camp in Idaho! Saint Joan of Arc FSSP Parish sponsored the Sisters, once again, to bring the program to their young ladies. A day camp directed at the parish for young campers was followed by a full Morning Star Camp experience, for older campers, at the Ross Point facility. May God bless everyone who helped make this Morning Star Camp in Idaho possible! Enjoy view some photos in the slider below.

Washington Camp

Following our annual four weeks of camp at our facility, three of our Sisters flew out to the North West again! This time, the Morning Star program was taking place in Washington State for young ladies from Saint Joseph and North American Martyrs FSS parishes. The program took place at Sound View Camp, right on Puget Sound! It was the first time for campers and staff, and everyone had a great time! We hope to revisit our North West Morning Star Campers next year! God bless everyone who made MSC Washington possible! Enjoy photos in the slider below.

Morning Star Season 2023!

The summer months are Morning Star season for the Sisters and campers! This year, four hundred campers and fifty counselors came from across the country to enjoy the program and soak up the spirit of “To Jesus through Mary” in this unique experience! The largest Leadership Camp to date started the season off, followed by two weeks of regular Morning Star Summer Camp and a week of MSC Teen Week! Enjoy a selection of photos from all of these sessions below. What a beautiful way to spread the Faith and to spend the summer!

Morning Star in East Texas!

January 2023 brought more than just the New Year to the Sisters, it brought a new venue for Morning Star Camp! Five Sisters traveled to Tyler, Texas, from January 27–February 4 for a 5-day Morning Star Day Camp! Usually our “Mini Camps” begin relatively small – but everything is bigger in Texas! The Tyler Camp started with no less than 100 happy campers!

Unfortunately cold, icy weather came to visit Texas that same week, making outdoor activities difficult. But Morning Star is more about the program than the place, so campers easily adapted to the close quarters provided by the Veritatis Splendor Lodge – and still had a blast! On the first day, we had a special visit from Bishop Strickland of the Tyler Diocese, who made the trek to see the camp and give the Sisters and campers his blessing! What an incredible way to begin!

The week was a variety of MSC activities ranging from Catechism, Art, Music, games and so much more. Now there are 100 more campers singing the theme song and joining the ranks of young ladies across the country who love Morning Star! We can’t wait to see them all again next year!

The Sisters would like to especially thank Melissa K. and all the moms who pitched in to make this possible and our host family Jose and Alicia E., for their gracious hospitality. May God reward you all!

Morning Star Camps 2022

A priest friend once told us that in religious life there is no vacation – only a change of occupation! How true it is! Come June, the school doors close and the doors of our Morning Star Summer Camps open! Once again, we had a full schedule of four weeks, with a turnover of about 100 campers each week.

The Morning Star Camps opened with our Leadership program for teenage girls 14-18. The weather was cooler than “summer camp” expectations, but along with a great group of campers, the activities, leadership presentations, guest speakers, and various events, all added in to make a truly memorable week! The most challenging part of the week was transporting our 21 out-of-state campers to and from the airport! Thankfully, our IHM marching band bus answered the call.

The second week of camps was the regular Morning Star program hosting 100 girls ages 10-14 in the bright pink camp t-shirts of the year! It was a colorful week with a fun and fun-loving group that enjoyed the 41-year-old program that never grows old! A highlight of the week was the day every fisher in our little fishing boat caught a good size fish! There were plenty of bass for Sister to filet that evening!

After a week’s reprieve back at the monastery while the Montfort Boys’ Camp took place, we were ready to start our second session! Morning Star Teen Week was a full house once again, and an enjoyable experience for all! It is the perfect bridge program between our regular camp programs and our leadership program. There were so many talented young ladies! Campfires were spirited, to say the least – those living on the other side of the lake attested to that!

The final week was another week of regular Morning Star with more girls trekking into the camp from all over the country! Six short days of Mass, prayer, religious instruction, music, arts & crafts, sailing, swimming, etc., left everyone wanting more! Soon it was time to pack up and leave the little cabin homes until next year! But there were plenty of memories made to hold everyone over until MSC 2023!

Special thanks to all who helped and supported our Morning Star Camps this year! Thanks to you, and the help of our 45 counselors – MSC was shining once again! May Our Lady bless and guide you all! Follow Mary, the Morning Star!

Idaho Camp(s) 2022

Day Camp

A week after school recessed for the summer, three Sisters traveled to Post Falls, Idaho, to direct two separate sessions of Morning Star Camp. They were hosted for the 4th consecutive year by the Fraternity of Saint Peter at their Saint Joan of Arc Parish.

The camps started with a two-day day camp on the parish grounds. The sixty girls, ages 5 through 12, enjoyed a wide variety of activities including catechism, art, music, games, and prayer.

Overnight Camp

The overnight camp was attended by nearly 70 girls – ages 9 through 17, at a lovely facility near the parish. The growing Morning Star Camp spirit was evident among all who attended for the four days. Once again, the same activities helped to provide a fun, yet faith-centered experience for these young girls.

Many thanks to the pastor, Father Dennis Gordon, FSSP, for having the Sisters visit Idaho, and for providing the daily Latin Mass for the camp! He is remembered in our prayers. What a wonderful parish!

Morning Star Over Texas

On February 19 and 21, 2022, two Sisters directed a Morning Star Mini-Camp in El Paso, Texas!

Morning Star camp in El Paso TXHosted by Immaculate Conception Parish, the Sisters brought the Marian spirit of the camp to about forty girls from the parish. The two-day schedule included everything from Mass and Rosary to arts & crafts, sports, singing, and the highlight event—ribbon dancing!

Everyone had a great time, and we look forward to returning in the future. Special thanks to Fr. O’Neill, Nicholla Arriola, the Knights of Columbus, and all the moms who helped make this event possible! We couldn’t have done it without you. Additional thanks to Our Lady of the Assumption Parish for allowing us to use their school facilities for this event. May Our Lady Morning Star guide and bless you and all her campers!
