September 8th Novice

Having completed her months as a postulant, the first step in religious life, Madeleine Robbins took the habit and veil of a Novice on September 8th, 2024.

It was symbolically beautiful that on the feast of the Nativity of Our Lady, she would begin a new life with a new name in religion! She is now known as Sister Maria Francesca, taking the intrepid Mother Cabrini as her namesake and patroness.

Please pray for Sister Maria Francesca as she embarks on the two-year program of Novitiate, a time of study and training in preparation for First Vows. May our sweet Blessed Mother and the zealous Mother Cabrini be her inspiration and guides. Perseverance Sister!

Sister Maria Francesca, Novice

First Profession 2024

Sister Maria Veronica made her First Profession of Vows on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary of Pompeii, May 8, 2024. Formerly known as Marie Cote, she is the eldest of Rebecca and David Cote’s twelve children and a native of Rhode Island. The Cote family happily supported Sister’s decision to dedicate her life to God and were blessed to witness the Vows of this Bride of Christ at the beautiful age of 21.

Sister came to know the community through the Latin Mass and the Morning Star Camp programs, which she attended as a camper and later as a counselor.

The celebration of Sister Maria Veronica’s First Profession was a joyous occasion, attended by supportive figures, including several priests and her large, extended family. During the next three years, Sister will continue to prepare for the day of Final Vows as a Slave of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Please join us in thanking God for this beautiful vocation and praying for her perseverance! Veni Sponsa Christi!

May 13th First Profession

Sister Mary Anne came from Singapore to Still River almost three years ago and entered as a Postulant. While attending the Traditional Mass in her native country, she met a family from Chicago who were parishioners of the same church. One day she mentioned to them that she was discerning a vocation to the religious life and they directed her to the Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. She soon visited and then decided to join. Having spent the two required years in the Novitiate, Sister Mary Anne made her First Profession as a Spouse of Christ on the glorious feast of Our Lady of Fatima, vowing Poverty, Chastity, and Obedience to Jesus through Mary.

We are happy to share the moving ceremony of First Profession in a short video below and a gallery of photos from this important day. Please pray for Sister Mary Anne, MICM, the new Bride of Christ.

December 8th: Final Vows

On the feast of the Immaculate Conception, December 8, 2021, Sister Mary Jacinta Brizek and Sister Maria Faustina Hannon made their Profession of Final Vows.

The simple ceremony of Final Profession takes place fittingly at the Offertory of the Mass. Uniting their sacrifice with that of the Lamb of God, these young Sisters recited their vows with determined voices for all to hear. After signing them on the Altar, they received the black veil and crown of white roses symbolic of their eternal espousals. They also received the candle of the light of Christ which was lit from the victorious Pascal Candle.

The unblemished beauty of the feast of the Immaculate Conception was the perfect backdrop for this lovely event. All were welcomed for cake following the ceremony. Members of the Brizek Family from New Jersey, and the Hannon family, who traveled from Louisiana, joined the MICM community for a special luncheon on this momentous occasion. Please keep the newly professed Brides of Christ in your prayers!
