May at the monastery is filled with devotion to Mary, the beauty of blooming flowers, and a host of memorable events!

On May 1st, each classroom was adorned with a beautiful May shrine, and throughout the month, students brought in fresh flowers to honor Our Lady. The chapel’s May shrine was the loveliest of all, graced with white tulle and blossoms, creating a perfect setting for First Holy Communion on the month’s first Saturday, May 2. (View a photo gallery on the school site here.) Sister Mary Jacinta prepared 23 young children for this sacred day.

May 5th brought a very special guest to our new IHM Elementary building. Bishop Robert McManus of the Worcester Diocese graciously chatted with the children, toured the facilities, and stayed for a leisurely lunch. You can see photos on the monastery website here. We are truly blessed to have such a caring Shepherd and friend!

On Friday evening, May 8, the IHM School Chorus and Band delighted everyone with their annual Spring Concert at MacIsaac Hall. The performance was a highlight of the season.

The annual May Procession fittingly took place on Mother’s Day, May 10. Blessed with spectacular weather, the community gathered to honor our Heavenly Mother by processing, singing hymns, and praying the Rosary together. Visit the monastery website to watch the video.

Ascension Thursday on May 14 brought the added blessing of a day off from school and a chance to prepare for Elementary Field Day on the 15th. Along with the usual races and games, this year’s event featured a new highlight: an inflatable obstacle course provided and run by the National Guard. It was a memorable day for all!

On the evening of May 16, MacIsaac Hall hosted the 3rd annual Pro-Life Dinner. Some Sisters directed the student wait staff, while the rest of the community enjoyed a delicious meal and an inspiring talk by guest speaker Fr. McTeigue. Photos from the event are available on the school site here.

The final two weeks of May were filled with finals, parades, Memorial Day concerts, recitals, and orientation. The school year concluded with a grand finale on May 29, featuring yearbook signing, celebrating 8th-grade graduates, and presenting awards. The Class of 2026 received their diplomas on May 31, the feast of the Queenship of Mary!

It was a packed month, but all for Jesus through Mary!
