School Expansion Goal

The 2022–2023 Academic Year is well underway here at Immaculate Heart of Mary School. But not a day goes by without a prayer that the IHM School Expansion Project will quickly come to completion! We are desperately in need of space!

With the new year, the Sisters were happy to take a tour of the construction site, given by the project manager, Brother Anthony Marie, MICM. The amount of work accomplished by the Brothers MICM on this project already is incredible – but there is SO much more to do! The goal now is to have classrooms ready for the opening of the new year in September 2023 – so that the revamp of the old building can begin. We rely on your generosity to help us reach this much-needed goal!

With your help, we can offer a Traditional Catholic Education to many more students in grades 1–8! God will bless you for whatever you can give!

Expansion Project: Roof!

Our school expansion project is definitely coming along! It’s so exciting to watch the progress day by day!

During afternoon recreation we had a chance to climb all the ladders the third floor of the new addition! It was thrilling to see the progress… and the great view that students will enjoy!

A giant “Thank You” to all who supported our apostolates here at Saint Benedict Center this December!

Our campaign to raise the $200,000 to cover the steel and the rest of the foundation for our School Expansion Project began with Giving Tuesday (the annual global day of giving). We raised half of the needed funds from December 1–24!  And that is only the beginning. For the first time in all our building endeavors we have made a goal of finishing in one year. Trusting in God and prayers, we know it can happen with your help!

Annual Fall Bazaar

Our annual Fall Bazaar has been treating people to some good ol’ country fair fun (and bargains) for over 30 years! As the world moves faster and gets more complicated… its refreshing to know that people still love the simplicity of an event like our annual Yardsale & Bazaar!

With the New England foliage for a backdrop, and our Mr. D.J. setting the atmosphere with ol time favorites… the Bazaar is memorable from start to finish! Whether you are hunting for treasures, snatching up one of the Sisters’ apple pies, taking a chance for a raffle or enjoying a delicious corn dog… there is something for everyone!

What a joy it was to see such a great spirit among the IHM students and families during this event! Thanks to that enthusiasm, we raised $25,000 during this event! Thank you and God bless you!

Ground Breaking

Finally, after a year of planning, construction for the addition to Immaculate Heart of Mary school has begun.

Below are some pictures of our ground breaking ceremony which took place October 7th.  We chose to begin on the feast of the Most Holy Rosary.  It was a long time in coming due to planning and engineering requirements for the many different aspects of construction but finally it all came together.

Rather than use the standard gold shovel, Brother Anthony used an excavator. The Brothers are doing all the site work with borrowed equipment from local companies.  Once the digging is finished, the concrete form men will take over to pour footings and basement walls. They will also have to underpin the existing foundation on the South side because the new basement will be a few feet lower.  If the good weather keeps up, we should make progress quickly.
